Harry is sixteen for a lot of Half Blood Prince, right?  When does he turn seventeen?  And what is the age of consent in England??

Harry's birthday is July 31st so it's always after the end of the book. Occasionally we see his birthdays towards the beginning of some of the books but he is the same age throughout an entire school year. So, he turns seventeen during one of the early chapters of Deathly Hallows.

Age of consent I believe is 16 actually, though for example there are still rules about positions of authority and that sort of thing. Here is something from wikipedia.

Wonderful! Thank you!!! I couldn't remember when his birthday was, although now that I think of it, Googling it would have been a snap, so I'm sorry if I wasted your time. Sometimes I forget how easily I can obtain all sorts of HP information. ;-)

LOL It didn't waste my time. I usually use hp_lexicon but unfortunately as with everything it's not 100% accurate so it's good but not perfect. Also (for good or bad) it's not quite all updated through DH. Somethings are but a lot isn't.
